Walls
  • Product description

Walls are resistant elements, the purpose of which is retaining land, sometimes natural or artificial fill. Walls also have a second purpose, which is to transfer vertical loads into the ground, in the case of bridge abutments.

  • Types of structure

For retaining walls, these are cantilevered components.

They can also be used as bridge abutments in which the wall acts as an element under compound compression, sized to resist vertical and horizontal stress from both the bridge deck and the ground.

Two types:

  • Solid walls: These are walls in the form of a solid panel that can be of a constant thickness or varying in height.
  • Buttress walls: These are cantilevered walls that lighten the deck load, connected to two buttresses that transfer the stress to the foundations, optimising the use of the materials.
  • Main characteristics
  • Retaining wall heights from 0 to 15 meters.
  • PACADAR walls can have a smooth finish or they can receive industrial treatments involving imprinting an imitation stone or wood pattern, or other shapes, on them. Special aging and colour techniques, to name a few, can also be used.
  • Normally, widths of 2.40 meters are made to facilitate transport.
  • Primary applications
  • Retaining walls.
  • Bridge abutments.
  • Freestanding industrial building enclosures.
  • Warehouses, silos and tanks.
  • Advantages
  • The different finishes with textured concrete and colours provide an appearance and originality not available in smooth surface walls.
  • Quick and easy to assemble, as they have four feet that rest on the mud slab.
  • Due to the optimised materials and weight offered by the structural efficiency of these walls, they are ideal when transport over long distances is necessary, because of their reduced weight.
  • Highly resistant for any kind of terrain and vertical load conditions.
  • This kind of wall is highly versatile in shape, because it is easy to manufacture, and therefore can perfectly adapt to widely varying terrain profiles.
